Instructs the scanner to perform a 75 dots per inch (dpi) resolution, 100% scale, in Line Art composition.
A preview is effected by the Threshold setting and the Graymap setting. Typically, Preview is used to obtain a rough scan image to set scan areas prior to using Scan.
A preview scans the entire scanner glass, ignoring any scan areas set in the Scanner window.

These settings instruct the scanner how to treat both the overall range between black and white, and the saturation in the image. Only halftone and grayscale composition scans are affected by the Contrast and Brightness settings. The Contrast setting determines the range of difference between black and white. The Brightness setting determines the lightness or darkness of the image.
